**SOLD** Honda Africa Twin RD03 (1988)
Description
1988 Honda Africa Twin RD03 XRV 650.
This is a very early RD03 being originally registered on 01/01/1988. The RD03 was never officially sold in the UK when new, built at the HRC factory as a road going replica of the 4 time Paris Dakar winning 750 NXR, later generations of the Africa Twin were toned down after the RD03 making these very special bikes.
Our example has covered just over 32k KM, the clocks were changed by the last owner for a set of new old stock items so the current mielage dispalys 799 km. It was imported into teh UK in 2021 and in 2022 underwent a sympathetic restoratiuon at great cost to the then owner. This is by no means an exhaustive list but some of the larger work undertaken in 2022, full repaint of fairings and frame, wheels re-spoked and new tyres/tubes fitted, forks stripped and rebuilt, carbs rebuilt, fuel pump rebuilt, new old stock clocks and many other new old stock fixings plus the brand new Arrow exhaust (Arrow started re-manufacturing these in 2022).
The original exhaust is present with the bike along with a folder detailing all work undertaken around 2022 and all documentation from the import of the bike and DVLA/Honda owners club correspondence.
This is a fantastic example, it looks stunning in the flesh and is on the button and rides very well indeed.
Grab a slice of history, a bonified modern classic that’s still very much useable yet would look great sat in any collection.
