Description

Here we have an exquisite example of the 1990 Ducati 851 SP2, this being number 277 of the 485 produced.

This bike has covered a mere 4338km or 2695 miles and comes with confirmation from Ducati Italy that the frame and engine number do correlate and that it left the factory as a 851 SP2.

This bike was supplied new to Germany where is stayed until it was bought by its current UK owner in 2017 who has since then looked after it well and covered circa 500 miles in the last few years.

This is very much an up and running SP2 in fine mechanical fettle throughout, full service in 2017 when it was bought by the current owner, in preparation for this sale it has just had a service including fluids, cambelts and fork seals and oil by G-Tec Ducati. It wants for nothing and is ready to be ridden.

Cosmetically the condition is fantastic, please take a good look at the photos with the fairings removed, all metal finishes and paintwork are in great condition, amazing considering its now 33 years old. A walk around video which shows the bike running is also available here… https://youtu.be/M7_2wHSRpK0

A bit about the 851 SP2 model…

The SP2 was introduced in 1990, and it came with a bored out 851 motor (from 92mm to 94mm) to create the legendary 888 engine. That year, Ducati won the WSBK Championship with Raymond Roche (and they’d win the next two years as well with Doug Polen).

The larger motor featured bigger valves and it was paired with the close-ratio transmission and upgraded camshafts from the 851 Superbike Kit.

The chassis was heavily upgraded with full floater Brembo cast iron rotors as well as Ohlins suspension front and rear.

Rounding out the upgrades is an aluminum subframe and solo rear seat.

All bikes go through our stringent 30 point check and will come with a full MOT upon purchase. If you have any questions or would like to arrange a viewing then please feel free to call on 07834 186 065.Delivery nationwide is no problem, just ask for a quote.

We are happy to take part exchanges, please drop us an email with the details of your bike and a few picturesthe for a valuation.
